South Bank/Bankside (part 1)

Do you know the feeling that when you end a visit in London and you're sitting on the train back home looking outside the window, realizing you didn't see the Big Ben? Well, I've been having that feeling a couple of times the past few years, and this time I was going to do something about that! Because the Big Ben is such a big touristic thing, I almost always avoid the Westminster area, but still I have to admit that I like seeing it once in a while (checking if it is still there ;p). So on day one of the trip, the Big Ben was on top of the menu! When walking from the Bankside towards South Bank, you get a beautiful view of this famous clock located in the Palace of Westminster, with alongside the London Eye, also one of the most visited attractions in the world. I love strolling alongside the Thames and watching London from different angles: so stunning!

Nothing Hill

Hi guys! Today I want to treat you with an outfit post and what is a better place to do some outfit shooting than L to the ONDEN?!?!?!? Next to being my favorite city in the whole wide world, I also think it is one of the few cities that really breathes fashion on a day to day basis. London just always knows what is hot and happening. It was such a long time ago that I walked through the cosy streets of Nothing Hill (and no, not looking after Hugh Grant ;)), so taking the tube had a double purpose that day: shooting some pics and doing some house hunting (you'll never now right?!). And oh yeah, I'm very proud of my new white coat! I know, again an oversized one, but I'm just such a cold kiddo that I love to wrap myself up with a big coat, a beanie and a warm scarf. And that was really necessary that day with the cold wind finding its way through London town. Hope you like the pics and especially the setting!

Jeans on jeans on jeans (part 2)

Jeans must be one of my favorite fabrics. I can't remember the time where I just didn't have a pair of jeans. It just fits with everything and that must be the main reason why I love it so much. Making an outfit mostly starts with taking a pair of jeans, and from there I go on with creating my #ootd. This same pattern was also what happened this day, where I eventually ended up wearing jeans on jeans. For some people this is just not done, but you guys already now that I'm a fan of this combo. This jeans jacket is one of my best buys of winter 2014-2015. Especially the sheep details make this - can I say - tough looking outfit less harsh.

St. James' Row

Today some outfit pictures taken in one of the cutest alleys of Sheffield. This little street connects the area where I live with the city centre, and is located next to the cathedral. It's definitely one of my favorite parts in Sheffield! I just had to take some pictures there so that I can add them to my Sheffield-archives ;) As it was a sunny day, no fluffy coat was needed, yay! I could also wear my new slip-ons that I bought at Topshop. As I'm a real sneaker fan, these burgundy beauties immediately caught my eye. The jacket was also new, and perfect for the midseason (that I think has officially come to an end). Also the scarf was a new addition to my winter garment - I know living in England with all its amazing shops isn't really good for my wallet - and I just love the way it can give a whole outfit that little bit more, some kind of an extra touch

Fluffy duffy in blue

Just like last year, oversized coats are still in business… Big business!! And this is absolutely one of the trends that I love the most, so I hope it sticks around for another couple of years. Last year I bought the burgundy Sandro coat (remember?). This summer though, my eye fell on this beautiful blue fluffy duffy coat. Indeed, I said summer, as it is totally not crazy to try out winter garment when it's 30 degrees outside ;) Blue is my favorite color so I sealed the deal quite quickly.  And what's so funny is that I didn't knew that blue oversized coats would actually be a thing this winter: after I bought my coat, I saw similar coats popping up on fashion sites all the time (next to the pink ones, who are also still quite high in the ranking of most fashionable coats of FW14) Lucky me! What do you guys think about this trend? Do you also like to bring some color into these grey days, or do you remain a fan of the classic black-grey-brown kind of winter garment?

Meadowhall student shopping night

On the first Wednesday evening of my new life in the UK, my erasmus friends and I went shopping at Meadowhall. It's a huge shoppingcentre - really the biggest thing I've ever seen - just outside the city centre. To 'celebrate' the beginning of the new academic year, they organized a student night where you could shop until you drop with a reduction of 20 %… So heaven can actually be a place on earth?! And I have to admit, we really shopped and dropped. We went from one store to another, with only a 15 minute (fast-food) lunch break, and even with this tight schedule we didn't have the chance to see all the shops: this place is just massive! The shop that impressed me the most, was Victoria Secret. In Belgium we don't have one - or maybe in the airport, I'm not sure - so it is always a new experience when I enter this VS madness. Although it is always über fluffy and pink, it's a fun shop and concept (but I have to admit that I still stick with the Belgian brands on this one!). For a list of all the shops, check http://www.meadowhall.co.uk/stores.aspx and definitely plan a trip to this shopping walhalla if you're in the neighborhood.

Winnetou

Hi dear fashion followers! It’s been a long time since I’ve done an outfit post, so today that will be the topic ! Lately I’m going through a lot of stuff, and with the exams coming up there is just so much to do... But there is always time for fashion, don’t you think ?

I'm in looooooove with my necklace from Hugo Boss. It's quite eccentric, I know, but sometimes I like that. Now and then we just need to pop out, and here the necklace definitely does the work. Combined with this elegant dress from Vanessa Bruno, it just comes out perfectly.

Fun fact: at a party there was one person who just couldn't stop about 'the feathers' that I was wearing. Since then my nickname became Winnetou. It wouldn't surprise you guys if I told you that I'm talking about a male person? Sometimes they just don't understand us women! ;) (this necklace is totally fashion, right?!)

Ear deco

I don't wear a lot of earrings, but that doesn't mean I don't like them! I have a bunch of them and I know that I should wear them more often... Edgy earrings are my faves. The pair I'm putting on the most right now are some big golden safety pins (coming up on the blog). But last year I bought this awesome pair at Topshop in London. Even though I love big colorful earrings, this kind of little details can also certainly tempt me...

The bigger, the better

If there is one thing that doesn't have to fit perfectly this winter, it's your coat: the bigger, the better! And that's just wonderful, because I've always been a fan of 'oversized'. I have no problem with my pants being tight, but my upper pieces definitely can be baggy. I'm not really a fan of tops, sweaters, t-shirts... that stick to your body like glue. But I know (and I hear you guys think), we're women so we have to be feminine. Forget about all that --> oversized is absolutely feminine too if you do it well!

Last year, I was already looking for my oversized coat when I went to London for some Christmas-shopping. Eventually, I achieved my goal and found one at Topshop. Pictures will follow in winter time ;).
