Bisous

Essentiel's latest summer collection again contained a lot of cool eye-catching items. One of the prints that I preferred were these red kisses (as well as the white on blue polka dots, more on this in one of the following blogposts!).

This dress has just the right cut as well as the anno 2017 very trending butterfly sleeves. I must admit I'm not a huge fan of such sleeves, but it totally fits the joyfulness of the dress!

Having that casual look is something that I love, but like any girl I like to dress up from time to time. Luckily, this dress can handle both: on the first picture you see it being combined with a high heel, while below I wore some leather woven derby shoes. What do you guys prefer?

JACK*IT

Today must be one of the most beautiful, yet coldest days of the year. Time to get that cosy fluffy winter jacket out! I've always been a fan of parkas, both for males and females. It gives an edgy cool touch to your outfit, without creating that 'hi guys I'm going to do some survival in the mountains' kind of vibe.  But if you know that the parka was invented by the Inuits, originally made from caribou or seal skin and used to go out hunting and kayaking in the frigid Arctic, you can understand where this vision comes from? Still, I don't think that way. For me the parka is perfectly wearable each and every day. Who's agreeing?

So now that all are fluffy duffy winter garments are out, I'm waiting for those other winter essentials... Can't wait to see those Christmas lights and decorations again!

Knee high skirts

A few weeks ago I went for a cosy shopping afternoon with my mom. We started our tour as usual at the Essentiel store, one of my favorite Belgian brands. There I immediately fell in love with this skirt. The skirts from Essentiel are just the perfect fit for me and just look at that print... It was love at first sight! There is also a shorter version, but lately I'm just a big fan of skirts that are at knee height. On the pictures below I combined this piece with a simple white blouse, so that all the attention goes to the skirt. Actually I bought a blue blouse with it, but that day it was just too hot for long sleeves ;) What do you guys think of this outfit?

Essentiel flash event

Last week, it was again that time of the year: the Essentiel Flash event! Essentiel released their new flash collection in Leuven on Thursday the 15th of October. I invited my summer school bestie Eef to join me for some fancy shopping - because who doesn't like shopping with a glass of champagne in their hand?! Another advantage that night was that you could buy at a reduction of 20 percent - yes, your ears are working… 20 PERCENT! - so it was the perfect moment to buy that one piece you always looked at when you were doing some window-shopping the past few months and your wallet was a bit empty... To see what I've bought you have to check my instagram account -> click here (oh yes I want to make the blogging experience more interactive! :p)

The flash collection was dominated by the colors black and red, which are not really my kind of colors. But still, it was a typical Essentiel collection, staying true to its DNA: a lot of printmixing, nice fabrics, and funny slogans. As you guys know, I'm a huge fan of the brand Essentiel, but this flash collection is just not my cup of tea. I personally like the other collection more (OMG, look at the bag on the second picture below!!!<3)

Here some pictures that I took during the event, and indeed, we got ourselves some fake tattoos as well!

The first summer combo

Finally the good weather has arrived in little Belgium! Yay! Time to get the skirts out! I just love that first day where I can reopen up the part of my closet that contains my summer clothes and start thinking about possible new combinations to make. The pictures below show the first combination of the upcoming summer season ;) I hope you guys like it!

South Bank/Bankside (part 1)

Do you know the feeling that when you end a visit in London and you're sitting on the train back home looking outside the window, realizing you didn't see the Big Ben? Well, I've been having that feeling a couple of times the past few years, and this time I was going to do something about that! Because the Big Ben is such a big touristic thing, I almost always avoid the Westminster area, but still I have to admit that I like seeing it once in a while (checking if it is still there ;p). So on day one of the trip, the Big Ben was on top of the menu! When walking from the Bankside towards South Bank, you get a beautiful view of this famous clock located in the Palace of Westminster, with alongside the London Eye, also one of the most visited attractions in the world. I love strolling alongside the Thames and watching London from different angles: so stunning!

Nothing Hill

Hi guys! Today I want to treat you with an outfit post and what is a better place to do some outfit shooting than L to the ONDEN?!?!?!? Next to being my favorite city in the whole wide world, I also think it is one of the few cities that really breathes fashion on a day to day basis. London just always knows what is hot and happening. It was such a long time ago that I walked through the cosy streets of Nothing Hill (and no, not looking after Hugh Grant ;)), so taking the tube had a double purpose that day: shooting some pics and doing some house hunting (you'll never now right?!). And oh yeah, I'm very proud of my new white coat! I know, again an oversized one, but I'm just such a cold kiddo that I love to wrap myself up with a big coat, a beanie and a warm scarf. And that was really necessary that day with the cold wind finding its way through London town. Hope you like the pics and especially the setting!

Fluffy duffy in blue

Just like last year, oversized coats are still in business… Big business!! And this is absolutely one of the trends that I love the most, so I hope it sticks around for another couple of years. Last year I bought the burgundy Sandro coat (remember?). This summer though, my eye fell on this beautiful blue fluffy duffy coat. Indeed, I said summer, as it is totally not crazy to try out winter garment when it's 30 degrees outside ;) Blue is my favorite color so I sealed the deal quite quickly.  And what's so funny is that I didn't knew that blue oversized coats would actually be a thing this winter: after I bought my coat, I saw similar coats popping up on fashion sites all the time (next to the pink ones, who are also still quite high in the ranking of most fashionable coats of FW14) Lucky me! What do you guys think about this trend? Do you also like to bring some color into these grey days, or do you remain a fan of the classic black-grey-brown kind of winter garment?

Color up your day

Colors can really brighten up your day, and the brand Essentiel absolutely knows how to do that! I'm a big fan of Inge Onsea her creations as they give me instant happiness! When shopping an afternoon with my dear mom in fashion walhalla Brussels, I thought it was time for a new Essentiel outfit in my wardrobe. In Leuven, I already did some little prospections (as a little pause during study-time), and I immediately fell in love with this skirt. The fabric where it's made of is just so fun! I combined it with a cool top, decorated with the well-known Essentiel sequins. The handbag that I'm wearing on the pictures is also from Essentiel, but from 2 seasons ago: I'm still so fond of this Mulberry Alexa look-a-like...

Winnetou

Hi dear fashion followers! It’s been a long time since I’ve done an outfit post, so today that will be the topic ! Lately I’m going through a lot of stuff, and with the exams coming up there is just so much to do... But there is always time for fashion, don’t you think ?

I'm in looooooove with my necklace from Hugo Boss. It's quite eccentric, I know, but sometimes I like that. Now and then we just need to pop out, and here the necklace definitely does the work. Combined with this elegant dress from Vanessa Bruno, it just comes out perfectly.

Fun fact: at a party there was one person who just couldn't stop about 'the feathers' that I was wearing. Since then my nickname became Winnetou. It wouldn't surprise you guys if I told you that I'm talking about a male person? Sometimes they just don't understand us women! ;) (this necklace is totally fashion, right?!)

Contrast

Today the details about my outfit for the Karl Lagerfeld opening! Because it was a festive occasion, time to get the skirts out. This golden one from Essentiel was just perfect! I wasn't sure what the dresscode was, but everytime I'm invited to such an event,  I'm very stunned by the fact that everybody is dressed quite casual. That's why I combined my skirt with this more sporty T-shirt, what created a nice contrast. And I was actually very glad with the result... The shoes were a rediscovery. I bought them 2 years ago in New York, but never wore them... until now! What do you guys think about the result?

Essentiel Flash Event

Last week, Essentiel introduced a new collection: the Flash collection. Fashion loving Leuven gathered for a little get together at their shop. We got the chance to discover all their beautiful new pieces and I liked it! I fell in love with the skirt on picture seven. I'm really fond of Inge Onsea her creations and it's just wonderful that Belgium has such a booming brand like Essentiel --> something to be proud of!
