Coral

Statement necklaces are still a big hit if you ask me. When I'm having such a day where I absolutely have no clue what I should wear, I just take a simple T-shirt or blouse, and put a statement necklace on it. This one is from Zara and it completely fulfills my requirements! I've always been a fan of chains + the happy color just makes it more perfect. Zara is really one of the best shops for this kind of stuff: always following the latest trends, and affordable with a sharp price! But, as many of you know (who doesn't love Zara right?!), being fast is also important when it comes to Zara: most of the necklaces are sold out very quickly. So checking their site now and then really is a must! Sometimes you have to make some efforts, and that's just not different when it comes to fashion ;)

Instattention!

Attention please! Since yesterday wordsfromthewest has a public instagram account!!! It's been quite some time that I've been thinking about it, but I wasn't really sure if I wanted my blog to be accessible for everybody, because a separate public account would definitely lead to this. Until now, only my closest friends knew that I'm blogging and I quite liked that. But of course I have to be realistic, and as I put my blogposts on the worldwide web, the content can of course come on the radar of everybody. My blog is really something that I do with a lot of passion and the main goal is to get others - who also have a heart for fashion - inspired, just like I get inspired by other bloggers. And as instagram is one of my main inspirational places, I thought it was time to take my blog to a next level...

--> You can find me under the name wordsfromthewest (all in one word)

HAVE FUN!

Chunky

In the post about the & Other Stories shop in Antwerp I talked about my love for the brand, and definitely for this bracelet. This is really my all time favorite. I've always liked the big chunky kind of accessories more than the little minimalistic stuff (although from time to time I can find myself in it). An absolute pro here is the huge lock. I think I'm supposed to wear the bracelet with the lock down, but with most of the stuff, I like it more the other way around ;). With fashion, the big rule for me is just that you must do what you want, not what others say. Just make your own fashion!

Skirts

Skirts. I normally don't wear them a lot because I'm more a shorts kind of person. It's not because we are women, that we're not allowed to wear shorts, right?! But I have to admit, it's been a while now that I've been searching some special skirts. And this one from Sandro really fits my requirements. It's some kind of Roman inspired skirt, made of an exquisite leather, and completed with some ropes. In my opinion, the skirt is most to his right when it's worn just above the hips. Put a nice top in it, and it immediately turns into something chic. I finished everything with a nice pair of earrings, bought at my friends' web shop, and a colorful handbag to perk the whole thing up. Approved or not? And you guys, do you prefer skirts, or shorts?

Crushing on & Other Stories

Until a few weeks ago, not a lot of people in Belgium knew that H&M and Cos also had a cool sister, named & Other Stories. But now I think this shop is highly ranked on the must visit list of every fashion lover, since they've landed in Brussels and Antwerp. I discovered this brand thanks to my twin nieces (who had the chance to go to the grand opening of the shop in Antwerp... LUCKY BASTARDS!). As you scroll back over previous blogposts, you already saw my favorite bracelet passing by a couple of times, and yes, it's an & Other Stories creation!

When I heard that the brand was finally coming to Belgium, I must honestly say that I almost bumped my head to the ceiling while jumping in the air -> finally an ending to my online ordering addiction at the & Other Stories site. So a week after the opening, one morning, I went from Leuven to Antwerp just to visit the shop. It was thus a one way and back kinda trip. Cray, you could say, but totally worth it! The shop is exactly how I'd expected it to be: light colors, a lot of space (reaaaaaaally a lot of space as the shop is gigantic with its two floors), lively atmosphere... Perfect for exposing all their beautiful clothes and products.

But why do I love this brand so much? Well, I have always been a big fan of the Scandinavian style, and for me, & Other Stories really does bring this kind of fashion. The cuts in the dresses, skirts and blouses really reflect that. Also their minimalistic jewelry are to die for. As the brand says it itself: & Other Stories really wants to offer a wide range of ready-to-wear so that women can create their own story. Mission accomplished, I would say!

There was really one piece that I really wanted to have: the blue-white dress from the host collection designed by Vika Gazinskaya. Unfortunately, there was only one left and it wasn't my size (sad face)... But instead I bought something else from this absolutely fab & Other Stories cooperation, but that's material for one of the next blogposts!

Chanel N°617

All time favorite nail polish: Chanels holiday! --> Although the name doesn't really resembles my current situation... Studying studying studying, that's all my day consists of at the moment: boring as hell! But as a pause, I can really entertain myself with giving my nails a new color. While pumping all the theory in my head, my nails have enough time to dry (while that part is normally one of the big downsides of the polishing your nails process). So for all the studying fashionistas out there: it's not because you're studying that you aren't allowed to give yourself a fashion threat from time to time. So remember: this is just a simple way
to bring some holiday into your (for the moment not so fascinating) life!

Keep your head up, and good luck to everyone!
