Alexander Wang X H&M

Just like last year, I really wanted to get my hands on a piece of the H&M collab from this year: Alexander Wang. Sad part of my goal was that because I'm studying abroad now, that was as good as impossible. The closest shop for me was located in Manchester, but due to the huge amount of work that I have for university, I wasn't able to plan a trip for this Alexander Wang madness. The only chance I would maybe have, was in London because I was going there for the weekend to visit my family. For me it seemed kind of impossible (again) because that trip was 2 full days after the launch of the collection. Last year the Isabel Marant collection was sold out in less than an hour - and that was in Gent, Belgium - so how would it be possible that in one of the biggest fashion cities in the world that would be different?

So on Saturday the 8th of November, we went shopping in the Regent street area, where also one of the H&M stores, who had the collection available, was located. In the United Kingdom you could only shop the collection in Birmingham, Manchester and London… That is so strange if you know that in my little country Belgium you could find the clothes in Gent, Brussels, Antwerp and I think in even some other H&M's. England, I sincerely expected more from you ;) !

But I have to admit one thing to you guys: it wasn't really love at first sight with the collection. When I heard the collab was with Alexander Wang, I was so excited because I love his creations and the fabrics that he uses. But when I saw the first images of the collection - also remember the pictures of Rihanna wearing a top and a legging kind of pants - I was so so so so disappointed. Almost all the clothes looked unwearable. I definitely like sporty clothes, but this was just over the top. Although I hated most of the collection, there were a few pieces where I was really fond of: the backpacks, the white and black tops, the grey WANG sweater (I would've bought the one made for men, because the female one was a crop-sweater and I knew I would never wear that), the black sweater/jacket and the grey black coat.

So when I entered the H&M shop in London I had low expectations… But they increased quite fast, when I saw a big banner of Alexander Wang and still a lot of clothes under that banner (hurray!). I started screening everything that I could screen, and realized that of course a lot of the pieces were the big sizes or the completely unwearable and expensive stuff. I grabbed one of the t-shirts, that I really liked and headed to the first floor to check if there was some stuff left from the guys. Unfortunately this check-up ended up negative. So I went down to the ground floor for a last look, and then I saw the black sweater/jacket that I wanted, just hanging there all alone… This one wasn't there before, so I saw my chance, grabbed it, fitted it, and (thank you parents!) bought it! Operation Wang in London: awesome! I have to admit, it was quite an expensive operation, but it was definitely worth it because that day was the first day where I could call myself the owner of an Alexander Wang design ;)

Superga X Roberto Del Carlo

Hi guys!!! I'm so so so so sorry for not getting back at you for almost 2 weeks now (shame on me…) but I just had the most busiest time ever during my first week abroad. So many new things to discover, so many cool people to meet, so many stuff to experience… I finally found a silent moment to focus on the blog and to make the sneaker lovers among you happy! For you guys, the brand Superga must definitely sound familiar!

Born in Turin (Italy) 1911 the Superga factory, under the stewardship of Walter Martiny, started to produce shoes with vulcanized rubber soles and so the Classic Superga 2750 Heritage style was born! Today,  this still is one of the most iconic pieces that the brand has ever made. But over the years, also other kinds of shoes followed: sport shoes, rubber rain boots… It thus doesn't surprise you that also some collaborations popped up, and my eye fell on the collab with Roberto Del Carlo. I got my hands on a pair of those, and I can assure you, I'm not letting them go! I always had a thing for extravagant footwear (look at my earlier posts) so this pair just had to be added to the pile. It's a classy sneaker - referring to the white beige combo - but yet it is absolutely daring. Superga is definitely a brand to watch, as it defied trends and stood the test of time.

Marant madness at H&M

Hi ladies and a few gents!

Yes yes, I was one of the crazy persons that went queuing for the new collaboration from H&M. This time they had the honor to work with Isabel Marant. At 6 o'clock I was present at their shop in Gent. But I was not the only one, as already 13 persons were in front of me! And believe me: I had three awful hours, standing there in the rain and cold, totally unprepared. There were people with magazines, books, coffee... to kill the time, but how could I know, being a rookie in this kind of stuff. On top of that, there was a lot of tension as the hours passed. Everybody was discussing his plan how to get the pieces they wanted. Some divided the tasks: one had to look after the skirt and take all sizes, the other one at the leather pants... You will not believe it, but I in fact got a little scared. Will some women really push and fight over some clothes? I was a fan of the collection, but that doesn't mean I would really 'kill' somebody for a pants. But when the doors opened at 9, it became clear that you just don't have the time to fight, as in 11 minutes the whole collection was sold out.

And for my male followers: believe it or not, there were also 4 men standing in line for their favorite pieces, because Isabel was so kind to also sign some creations for you guys...

Here a sneak peek of what I got and outfit posts will follow soon!!! Do you like what I purchased?

Vans x Liberty London

Whoop whoop, great news you guys! Believe it or not, but I entered a competition and... I won! It's been a few years since I've been following the blog afterdrk.com by Sabrina Meijer, who has become really big in the blogscene. Now and then, she gives away some fashion musthaves, and this time it was a pair of Vans. Note: not just Vans, but Vans from the collaboration with Liberty London. Everybody knows the 'Kenzo-Vans', but I've never been able to get my hands on them because they're always sold out immediately (size 37)... --> This time a new collaboration, so a new chance to search for my pair what was easy for once thanks to Sabrina ;) Outfitposts with these cuties will follow soon!
