Summer blues?!

Everyday when I wake up and open my curtains, hoping for some morning sunbeams, I am disappointed that there aren't... What is it with this sad sad summer in our small Belgian country? Only two months left to wear our summer clothes, but with this weather we can leave them in our closet. I already had one week of vacation at a sunny destination and took the chance to make some sunny blogpost pictures for you. These are the first of many and I hope I can continue with it in Belgium. I know talking about the weather is quite cliché, but really, now I'm getting annoyed by it and I think you guys agree ;) Please sunshine, give us the chance to parade with our lovely summer outfits for just a couple of weeks!

Pleated

While I'm sitting here at my desk, writing another blogpost and staring outside the window, summer seems to have left us already... The long hot nights are definitely over - sigh - and autumn is waiting right after the corner. Although I'm a summer-minded person, I can also enjoy the upcoming colder seasons, because I can unpack my coats and scarfs again and start brainstorming for some new cool winter looks! It seems to be a good moment to change positions again: summer clothes out, winter garment in! Before the winter season starts and you go out for some new clothes, it is always a good idea to first check what you already have (logic!), followed by checking the fashion magazines full of new trends. This winter, not a lot has changed: you can still wear your chunky punk motor boots, combined with an oversized coat and a big scarf. This still is one of thé looks for the winter. And as you know, I'm a big fan of this style. Also capes are very hot and a lot of clothes, shoes, bags... are finished with fringes (which is not really my cup of tea).

But as you've already seen, the pictures beneath are totally not wintery yet. I refuse to acknowledge that the sun won't be around that much anymore, and that attitude reflects in my outfits. Monday I had a goodbye diner with some of my law-friends (more about that in one of the upcoming posts), and this is what I wore: I just really wanted to wear my pleated skirt one last time...

Skirts

Skirts. I normally don't wear them a lot because I'm more a shorts kind of person. It's not because we are women, that we're not allowed to wear shorts, right?! But I have to admit, it's been a while now that I've been searching some special skirts. And this one from Sandro really fits my requirements. It's some kind of Roman inspired skirt, made of an exquisite leather, and completed with some ropes. In my opinion, the skirt is most to his right when it's worn just above the hips. Put a nice top in it, and it immediately turns into something chic. I finished everything with a nice pair of earrings, bought at my friends' web shop, and a colorful handbag to perk the whole thing up. Approved or not? And you guys, do you prefer skirts, or shorts?

Spring is in the air

Yay! Today it's the first day of Spring! :) We've already enjoyed some beautiful days - where the temperature was at some points creepy high - and took out a part of our summer wardrobe. I'm not really sure what my favorite season is: I like duffling myself in a long coat with a warm scarf, but I also love wearing some light clothes and walking bare-legged... Tough choice! But luckily, as time passes I'm always happy to re-welcome the new season.

Last week we went brunching with the girls on a beautiful Sunday morning. As it was still a little bit chilly, I chose to wear my jeans combined with a light blouse and my yellow long blazer! I just love this one, because it has some kind of 'Natan-vibe' over it (don't you agree, mister Vermeulen?!). It was just perfect for this occasion, because it's dressed-up, but still casual -> the perfect combo

I can't wait to take my other summer garments out of the closet! Are you guys also looking forward to summer? And how are you clothing yourself in this transition period

Red treasures

Haay guys! As promised I'm fully reloaded and ready to get back in blogger action! While it was raining and storming in Belgium, I was enjoying the Dominican sun for one week. And of course, hot weather stands for summer clothes. Super weird to be wearing skirts and shorts in mid February... but you don't hear me complaining

That's why I'm also already in some kind of sunny mood and with this post I will try to bring some color into your rainy days ;). These shoes are one of the new treasures of my wardrobe. I felt immediately for this deep red and let us be honest, who doesn't love Marc Jacobs? His shoes, his handbags, his clothes... I just love the man's creations! You will see these babies a lot on my feet this summer!

Are you guys already dreaming of hot long nights with a glass of wine in your hand? I sure am!
